where are our mamas-to-be at?

as you know, there are many vitamins and minerals that are essential for a healthy pregnancy (insert your prenatal supplement here). in addition to supplementing, there are easy ways to eat foods that will help your baby grow and keep you feeling good throughout your pregnancy.

protein

more protein is needed during pregnancies as the amino acids in protein are the building blocks for a growing baby (and for keeping mamas feeling strong). nutrient-dense sources of protein include: fatty fish, lentils, quinoa, turkey, etc.

calcium

this mineral is a bone-builder which will help with the baby’s bone and teeth formation. and calcium comes from many foods other than milk. sources include: spinach, basil, bom choy, kale, white beans, and broccoli.

folate (aka vitamin B9)

this is the most important B vitamin during pregnancy. it is key in preventing neural tube defects. try out some of these foods with folate: lentils, chickpeas, spinach, asparagus, and rice

you are well on your way.
