It's all in the EYES

With all the focus on our eyes for the last year – thank you masks! It’s really been the only part of our faces that everyone has been seeing. So, with this extra attention on the eyes, you might have been looking at different ways to play them up. I have always been a big lash girl, I love a full curled lash, it’s one of my everyday makeup musts! So, to keep my lashes looking full and healthy throughout this pandemic I have been using a lash serum. Yes there is a serum for your lashes! And you know what, they are amazing!  They nourish you lashes, help keep them stronger, and help them grow longer. They are also great if you have worn lash extension for a while and now want to restrengthen your natural lashes.  I have been using Eyenvy for the last year on and off and I’ve seen great results (there are a lot of different brands out there, so do your research and see if it’s right for you) My lashes are longer, thicker, and fuller! Honestly after a few weeks I really notice a difference. And if you are someone who gets a lash lift (it’s basically a lash perm that curls the lash from the base, you must go to someone to have this done, I do not recommend any at home versions!), you really notice the difference after the lift.

I also love to wear mascara daily, I always feel it gives me a more “awake” appearance, and who doesn’t love that. I tend to have a few mascaras on the go, depending on the look I’m going for, so here is my list of current must haves:

1. ILIA – Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara, Sephora $37.00

USE: Every day, clean mascara, defined lash

2. Maybelline SKY HIGH Lash Sensation, Walmart $10.96

USE: Every day, simple wing liner look, when you need a full lash long lash

3. Stila MAGNUM Mascara, Sephora $30

USE: Evenings, Dramatic eye look, super full lash

4. Glossier Lash Slicker, Glossier $20

USE: no makeup makeup looks, everyday – it adds just the right amount of something

Another easy but affective way to get more attention and highlight the eye is liner. This is an easy quick way to add colour and a little something to your look, especially since we can no longer just throw on a lipstick. I love a graphic liner, for the most part I stick to a wing liner, sometimes it’s a bit thicker, longer, and sometimes it’s a small subtle wing, just depends on my mood, but I love to change up the colour for a little fun.  Another great thing about coloured liner is you don’t have to worry about blending anything, it’s just a line! Some of my favs are:

1. For a classic black wing liner

Glossier, Pro Tip $20

2. Colourful liners that are multipurpose

Danessa Myricks Beauty, Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip, $24

3. Easy to apply Colour liners that you can smudge and manipulate with a brush

NXY RETRACTABLE EYE LINER, $8.50

4. Easy to use Liquid Pens, felt tip

Sephora Collection Colorful Wink-It Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner – Waterproof, $19.00

Whatever you choose to do or not do, remember it’s makeup, it’s not that serious so have fun!

xx
